Bhutan Visa Process
Your Bhutan visa will be processed by Mad Monk Travels before your arrival in Bhutan. To obtain your visa, we require:
✅ Full tour payment
✅ A scanned copy of your valid passport (must have at least six months validity from your travel date)
The visa approval process takes a maximum of one week (working days). Once approved, we will email you a visa clearance letter before your trip begins.
Bhutan Visa Cost
Bhutan tourist visa fee: USD 40 per person (one-time payment for your visit to Bhutan).
Visa Requirements to Enter Bhutan
Indian Nationals
Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Bhutan. However, they must present one of the following travel documents:
- Passport (valid for at least six months)
- Voter ID
- Citizenship ID card
Bangladeshi & Maldivian Nationals 🇧🇩 🇲🇻
Bangladeshi and Maldivian citizens do not need a visa to enter Bhutan. They will receive a visa on arrival upon presenting a valid passport.
Other International Travelers
All other nationalities must obtain a valid visa clearance letter issued by the Department of Immigration of Bhutan before boarding their flight.
✔️ A copy of the visa clearance letter must be presented at check-in.
❌ The initial reference letter issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is NOT valid for travel.
❌ Passengers without a valid visa clearance letter will be denied boarding.
Important Travel Document Guidelines
- All travelers must ensure their passport is valid for at least six months from the date of travel.
- Drukair and other airlines will refuse check-in for passengers with passports that do not meet this requirement.
